You may be wondering like me—where has this year gone? Wow, it is hard to believe, we are just a few weeks away from 2020! In this month, we gather with family and friends to celebrate the birth of Jesus and stand in amazement of God coming in the likeness of man in the person of Jesus the Christ.
Return the Favor
Do you have a friend who is always telling jokes, but he never laughs at anyone else’s jokes? Once you notice it, it becomes quite annoying. I am not advocating payback to the non-laugher, but for us to be considerate—to return the favor when we have been shown favor.
Things As Well With Me As They Are
I remember some of the old timers testifying in my childhood country church, “I thank the Lord, that things are as well with me as they are!” If you had asked them to explain, they would have added: “There are a whole bunch of people who are in worse shape than me. I may not be rich, but I have enough. I am so thankful for what I do have. I could be dead. I should be dead. I can still do for myself. God has been good to me and mine.”
Marriage is God’s Idea!!!
“When you open the box and assemble the parts without reading the directions, you will have leftover parts. Read the manual—God’s Word.”
In the beginning, God in His wisdom established the building block of society and community known as the family. This family begins with the union of a man and woman. Society and community begins and properly functions from this basis.
Journey Update: November 2019
Things have been more than busy—they have been crazy. Along with the normal ministry and family duties, there are certain seasons or periods of time when a bunch of things seem to happen at once.
Anyone is Redeemable
I was somewhat amused by the various reactions to Kanye West’s conversion. There were skeptics from the religious world and the secular world. The woke are in the dark when someone else has seen the light. They are as confused concerning someone’s turn-around as they are to the meaning and purpose of life.
The Piercing Light of Christ
In the beginning God brought forth light upon the dark and chaotic waters of creation. The Holy Spirit was hovering over the face of the waters when God the Father said, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3 NKJV). The Word sent out by the Breath of God executed the will of the Father and rolled the darkness back by His Light that was called forth from nothing but birthed from His own eternal substance.
Getting to Know God
Moses had his first encounter with God at the burning bush in the desert while keeping his father-in-law’s sheep. He saw a fire in a bush, but the bush was not consumed so he went in for a closer look. The Angel of the Lord (Pre-incarnate Christ) called out to Moses and told him to remove his sandals because he was on holy ground.
The Lord commanded Moses to return to Egypt and lead His people out. Moses questioned God about His name and this was the reply, “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14 NKJV).
Supernatural Birth
There is one revelation I have become more convinced of than ever, and it is that we cannot logically convince someone to become a Christian. I know this may sound strange or even heretical to some people but please hear me out. True evangelism is not an earthly technique, but a spiritual reaction brought about by a supernatural convergence of man and God.

Featured photo: This is in India where we help about twenty poor widows with food each month. This is in one of the village churches at the food distribution.
Here in Alabama, the calendar says autumn, but the thermometer says summer; however the weatherman is promising cooler weather soon. One day on my weather app it was warmer in Alabama than it was in Haiti—that doesn’t happen much!
One of the heartache’s of missions, as in life, is to see people you love suffer.
