A new decade is upon us! The year 2020 is here and a lot has happened in the last ten years—some good and some bad. It seems the world is a little crazier now than then. Tens years ago, there were many things in our culture that was not acceptable but now is celebrated. The scripture describes our time quite well, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter” (Isaiah 5:20 NKJV)! People’s attitude toward sin changes like the wind but God and His Word does not change. Truth is not fluid.
We march into this new decade with the same mandate from Jesus about two millennia ago, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15 NKJV). There is a pause as we look back to thank God for what He has done and we take a full breath of air as we take another big step into the future on our “Journey with Jesus”.
Pastor Butch Suddath and I will soon be taking one of those big steps as we venture to Asia. Our journey will be on the other side of the planet. It is another world. The trip is a long and difficult journey; we need your prayers.
We are excited about what God will do. Our trip will involve preaching in a number of village churches and two pastor’s conferences. During our trip we plan to distribute food to a group of widows and perhaps some children in a slum area. We are going as servants of Jesus.
Our CareBoxes made it to our church and school in Haiti and were distributed to our school children in the month of December. They were also served a big meal including a chicken leg which is a big blessing in Haiti. We had an abundance of CareBoxes this year so Pastor Baptiste was able to reach out to some other areas and blessed many more children. We had a great response this year collecting 665 boxes from many different individuals and churches. We appreciate your help and blessing with this project. Thanks for blessing the poorest of the poor.
Besides our trip to Asia, we have plans to go to Cuba and Haiti within the first half of 2020. It looks to be a busy year of journeying with Jesus. Every day many people are being touched with the love of Jesus somewhere in the world through this ministry (about 2500 per week). It is really quite humbling as we stand amazed in the midst of God’s provision and power. We need your continued financial support and prayers.
