The Piercing Light of Christ

In the beginning God brought forth light upon the dark and chaotic waters of creation. The Holy Spirit was hovering over the face of the waters when God the Father said, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3 NKJV). The Word sent out by the Breath of God executed the will of the Father and rolled the darkness back by His Light that was called forth from nothing but birthed from His own eternal substance.

If the Holy Spirit hovered over the face of the waters, surely Satan stirred the dead waters to spew forth the vomit of death. The hovering of the Spirit was the stealth positioning of God to strike with Light into the darkness exploding in brilliant streams at just the moment of the Father’s command. “Let there be light.” Projected from His lips was the trigger pull of the release of Light that began the cascade of Life to the following generations of creation.

Where once was darkness is now Light and it was good. This Light was the foundation of Life.

“For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6 NKJV).

As we travel from the primeval waters to the spirit of a fallen man, we see the same degree of chaotic, troubled, and dark torrents. It is dark and lifeless. It is no more capable of life than a dead womb. No amount of human wooing can bring forth life from death. The greatest minds and the heart with best intentions cannot roll back spiritual darkness to expose light. It takes a miracle from God sending His Light to strike death to the darkness releasing the veil so that the revelation of Light can be manifest to a dark heart.

The scripture perfectly describes the condition of the lost inner man, “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, / in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience” (Ephesians 2:1-2 NKJV).

The Light of the glorious Gospel of Life in Christ pierces the darkness of sin and brings revelation of the truth. The Holy Spirit breaches the gates of sin and allows the Light of the Son of God to dispel the darkness.

The shock of Eternal Light causes a quake in the darkness that loosens the scales of spiritual eyes to see the glorious Jesus Christ who was crucified and resurrected. The first squint from the darkness causes a rush of revelation that quickens the dead to life.

The Light of Christ pierces the dark and dead spirit of man giving revelation of Light and birth of Life to the soul born into sin. The man whose spirit has been awakened and resurrected begins the journey of following Christ being the lens by which others will see the Light of Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:3-6 NKJV
(3) But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
(4) whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
(5) For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake.
(6) For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Embrace the Light of the Gospel of Christ that shines into our darkness and receive Life.
