Deception of Evil

Evil first hides in the dark. Then it appears in the morning, not as a direct enemy of good, but as an alternative. Then by afternoon, it tries to masquerade as good denouncing good as evil. By nightfall, evil seeks to destroy good so evil can prevail unhindered.

The Bible declares this deception, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20 NKJV).

How do you recognize evil? Evil is anything that stands contrary to truth, life, freedom, justice, and righteousness. (Maybe not a conclusive list but you get the picture!)

Deception is at its core a lie with an intended purpose. The final purpose of deception is not to win an argument but to destroy. Jesus in His discourse comparing the devil and Himself declared, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10 NKJV).

The counter to deception is truth. I BELIEVE THE BIBLE IS THE TRUTH. The Bible is first ignored by those who hold it. Then it is doubted by those who seek to minimize it. Then it is denounced by those who hate it. Then it is forbidden by the evil that fears it. Finally, all will be judged by it.

There must be something very powerful about an ancient book that is loved by so many yet hated by so many! The Word of God is powerful because it is the Truth, and the deceiver hates the truth. If the Bible was a book of myths and legends, then the devil and his allies would have no interest in denouncing or destroying it.

At the trial of Jesus at Pilate’s Praetorium, Jesus said, “‘Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.’ / Pilate said to Him, ‘What is truth?’” (John 18:37-38 NKJV). Pilate was the representative of the Roman Empire asking, “What is truth?” Yet, the very, eternal embodiment of all truth stood in his presence—Jesus the Christ, the Word (the Logos) made flesh!

BASKET OF DECEPTIONS

Deception tries to deflect from reality, so the devious results are not seen.

Deception is a drug that may make you feel better for the moment but will leave you ruined and wasted in the end.

Deception screams for the truth-tellers to shut up while increasing the volume of lies.

Deception wants to appear as a glistening, marbled monument of truth while being a crypt of rotting flesh and dead men’s bones.

Deception wants to be the road sign of the way forward but is a slippery slope of the way downward.

Deception cannot win by logical argument and sound reason, so it tries to intimidate and marginalize the truth-tellers.

Deception is not a misleading theory; it is a rotting religion of Hell.

Go to the opposite side of deception’s fulcrum, and you find the weight of truth.

Deception's evil lies will eventually be exposed to reveal death, while the truth will ultimately be resurrected to reveal life.
