Are You Your Own God?

True spirituality or religion is transcendent, meaning, it is beyond conventional experience. In other words, it is heavenly not earthly. It is beyond our little world of self.

Have you ever heard someone say that they are spiritual but not religious? First of all, God created us all as spiritual beings so that is a foundational fact regardless of our morality.

Most of the time, when someone proclaims they are spiritual but not religious, they are saying that their spirituality is contained only in themselves. Nothing beyond them adds to or takes away from their spirituality. Their own little universe is corralled by their soul and mind. Sad, but their self-designed cathedral is built with rotten wood on shifting sand. A small temple of one parishioner who is member, priest, and god rolled into one is a sad excuse for spirituality.

Being your own god may appear convenient because you answer only to yourself. That sounds good until you get a diagnosis of cancer, go bankrupt, someone you dearly love gets into trouble you cannot resolve. Worst of all, when you close your eyes in death and open on the other side of a spiritual reality you dismissed to your eternal detriment.

Being your own god or your own guru of spirituality is a one lane highway to Hell. If you think for a minute that being a rogue spiritualist is cool, you will end up where it is hot.

I’m not trying to be mean. I’m just in the road waving a bright orange flag trying to tell you the road you are on has a bridge out ahead and the gorge drops deep forever. Yeah, I know, you think I’m just an old white-headed nut case. Beware, Heaven is for real and so is Hell.

One of the greatest statements by Jesus Christ was very simple yet very profound: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 NKJV).

If you have been saying to Jesus’s fanatics that you are only spiritual not religious, then you have bought into a lie that is worthless.

We the fanatics (devout followers) of Jesus, have received a revelation of Jesus beyond this ball of dirt. It is from another dimension beyond us and is only accessible by faith in Jesus. Come join the real fanatics, the renegades against the deceptions of earthly kingdoms, those whose beliefs are diametrically opposite of earth-dwellers, and those who are in the world but not of the world.
