Do you ever wonder that some people gather in a room and begin their meeting with this phrase, “Let’s try to come up with the worst idea possible!” The meeting progresses and many ideas are put forth. Then they arrive at a consensus of the worst idea and they all with wholehearted glee exclaim, “Yes, let’s do that!”
That sounds absurd and I know they do not use those phrases, but the result is the same. Out here in the real world, it certainly looks and feels like this happens. Most of us who live and work among the masses often see the derived solution worse than the contrived problem. What are they thinking?
Those of us who just try to take care of our families, help our neighbors, pick up trash, give generously to others, and love God and love our neighbors—are often asking the question, “What are they thinking?”.
Perhaps we are asking the wrong question. It is not “What are they thinking?” We should be asking, “Why are they thinking like this?
I believe now more than ever, there is a darkened mentality that is executed by Satan. It is more than a different opinion or a different perspective. It is a ploy of the Adversary with a heart set on destruction that is carried out by confusion, deceit, and division that is camouflaged by rhetoric. “Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. / Professing to be wise, they became fools (Romans 1:21-22 NKJV).
A reasonable man who is ignorant can be brought to correct knowledge, but a foolish man will debate his foolishness until your head explodes.
Read these words written by the Apostle Paul, “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, / having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; / who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness” (Ephesians 4:17-19 NKJV).
I believe we are witnessing a veil of darkness over the hearts and minds of people. They will not be educated out of the darkness, nor will they be convinced by debate. It is a spiritual battle for the minds and souls of captive men ensnared in darkness. This darkness will only be broken by the Light of Jesus.
2 Corinthians 4:6 NKJV
“For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6 NKJV).
If you haven’t started praying, now is the time. This battle of darkness versus light will not be won in the halls of Congress or on a physical battlefield, but on our knees in the spiritual battle of the centuries before the God of All Creation in the Name of Jesus Christ. We need another Great Awakening!!!
