The Baby Grew Up…

We are now finished with the Christmas season except for the packing away of tinsel and bows. During this past season as always, the true believers celebrated Christ’s birth and the secularists celebrated “Christmas”. We who hold and celebrate the Virgin Born Son—Jesus Christ could kick and scream about the commercialization of Christmas, but next year Walmart will still have their big screen TVs on sale. But I want you to know—The Baby Grew Up…

I am not interested in opening a debate on the commercialization of Christmas or the correct date of Jesus’ birth. There is much to be enjoyed and celebrated of the First Advent.  I simply want to highlight Jesus who all this fuss is supposed to be about. Have you heard?—The Baby Grew Up…

Most secular people are comfortable with the baby Jesus. It is a cute little story of a young expectant mother about to deliver with no proper accommodations. Simple shepherds  saw the glory and heard the herald of angels announcing His birth. It is a wonderful story easily depicted on glittered cards and displayed in the front of re-purposed pallets on a mound of hay. The story fully blooms from a bud because—The Baby Grew Up…

As a grown man ready to die for the sins of mankind, He told us the world hated Him and would hate us because of Him. Oh, this benevolent carpenter’s son, who could resist Him much less hate Him? Yet He told us plainly, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you” (John 15:18 NKJV). The world will love a young mother’s swaddled babe, but they will despise the Word made flesh. Emmanuel—The Baby Grew Up…

The world stands in awe of a sweet baby in a stinky stable but are repulsed by a Mangled Messiah on a tree. Greater skepticism rises even more over a claim of resurrection three days past. Doubters want a revised movie with a more believable plot and a predictable ending to soothe the nerves.  The truth is simple.  He Died, He Rose—The Baby Grew Up…

Jesus did not come so we could have Christmas. He came to give us life by His dying. He came to destroy the works of the devil. He came to restore our broken relationship with Father God.  As a babe, the artist perceive a sphere of light shining about His head, but as a man, a crown of thorns instead.  To the redeemed, He is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world—The Baby Grew Up…

His coming was much more than to improve our existence.  He came to give life to the dead. He came to give the dying another breath that would last for eternity. Our best life, is His life.  It took the Lion of the Tribe of Judah to open the book and reveal the redemptive plan of God—The Baby Grew Up…

The last book of all books—The Book of the Revelation (Chapter 19) describes the coming Deliverer riding on a white horse. He is called “Faithful and True”. His eyes are like a flame of fire. His robe is dipped in blood and He is called the “Word of God”. A sharp sword goes out of His mouth with which He will strike the nations of the earth. And He will rule the earth with a rod of iron. He stomps in the wine press of the wrath of God. Another name is written on His robe and on His thigh—King of Kings and Lord of Lords. If you ever doubted, believe it now—The Baby Grew Up…

Revelation 1:4-8 NKJV
(4)  John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne,
(5)  and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
(6)  and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
(7)  Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
(8)  “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Yours on the Journey,
