I had my first cup of coffee on our screened porch this morning; the coffee was hot and the air was a little chilly—just the way I like it. I love the Fall season. After a hot and crazy summer, the fresh cool air is a welcome change.
This morning before I began to write this letter, I purposely prayed by name for all our ministry supporters and encouragers. We appreciate so much those who pray, encourage, and support this ministry financially. As I often say, “Thank you for helping us help others.” In the midst of this pandemic we have been able to continue the ministry around the world at the same level and to even help with some additional needs. We are so thankful for the Lord Jesus whose hands hold us up and His followers whose hands are joined to ours in partnership.
Our school in Haiti is in full swing with 415 children enrolled. Pastor Baptiste, the church, and school staff are working hard to help their people who are the poorest folks in the Western Hemisphere. The political unrest and violence in Haiti has continued now for some time. The Haitian currency is highly inflated and the cost of living is even higher which adds more difficulty to their lives. This ministry is continuing to shine the love and light of Jesus into dark corners of the world through tangible ways.
We are partnering with Christian workers in three other unnamed countries where we assist them through prayers, encouragement, and with financial assistance. These Christian workers minister in very difficult situations and in countries where Christianity is a minority religion.
All over the world people are enduring hardships with the direct and indirect affects of the coronavirus. Some of these countries have had difficult shutdowns due to the pandemic and their situation was tough even before the pandemic hit. We are assisting a Christian school in one country. In another country we are assisting fifteen village churches and about thirty-five poor widows with food. In one country we are not able to help financially because of government sanctions even though we try to communicate regularly with the Christian workers there.
Pathway Outreach has affiliated churches in the United States where we provide consultation assistance and encouragement. There are a few other countries where we are exploring budding opportunities.
One of our current projects is CareBoxes for children in Haiti. We have been doing this project for many years. We have a guideline sheet available on our website (www.PathwayOutreach.org) for those who desire more information. The deadline for the CareBoxes will be Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at noon. Those who need delivery information can contact me on Messenger or in the comments section on this blog.
We are in our second month for our “Journey with Jesus” devotional study. We appreciate those who have tuned in with us. The study is on Facebook Live on my Facebook page. These sessions are held on the second and fourth Thursdays each month at 7:00 pm (Central Time in the US). This month’s sessions will be Thursdays, October 8th and 22nd on my facebook page (www.facebook.com/harrywhitt).
Thank you so much for reading our blogs, participating in our online studies, and supporting this ministry through your prayers, encouragement, and financial assistance. You can contribute to Pathway Outreach on this blog site by giving in $25 increments; the giving portal is on the blog’s side bar. God bless you all.
Rejoicing in the salvation which is by grace through faith, I am…
Yours on the Journey,
