I know summer has arrived in Alabama because of several tell-tell signs, such as, temps in the nineties, kids out of school, graveyards with fresh plastic flowers from decoration day, vacation Bible schools, and the first installment of yellow crook-neck squash. I can’t wait for my first, fresh tomato sandwich (Recipe: two slices of white bread, two big slices of tomato, salt & pepper, and a glob of mayo.) I just love my Southern way of life. We pray y’all have a great summer!
Our church in Bossier, Haiti will have their annual anniversary celebration this month. I will traveling down to join in for about a week stay. They have two weeks of night services culminating on a big Sunday celebration with special singing groups and a big meal for everyone after the service. I usually get to preach the anchor message. When I go to Haiti, I stay with Pastor Baptiste and we have a great time of fellowship. It is very warm in Haiti this time of the year. You may ask, “Isn’t it always warm in Haiti?”, yes, but summer increases of 7 to 10 degrees makes a big difference.
The school year in Haiti stretches into June but even in the last weeks of the ending of school; we must begin planning for the next year. At this time of the year, we begin collecting some extra funding for school uniforms and books. We will have about 400 students next year and we need about $20 per student to get them started in school. Our process begins with the buying of matching cloth in August. We need enough funds for the cloth by the end of July. So, please consider helping with this project by making a donation payable to Pathway Outreach Ministries and note on the donation for: “UNIFORMS”. Thank you in advance for your help. Online donations can also be made on our website listed below.
We appreciate your prayers and encouragement. The Lord Jesus has blessed us with a wonderful core of partners who help us financially throughout the year. We appreciate you all so much. The previous paragraph is about as much as you will ever hear from us concerning financial assistance. We operate on the principle that God gives provision for His vision. Our goal is to inform and leave the rest to Him. God through His people have continually provided for this ministry during the past 25 years; for this we praise God and thank you—His people.
Rejoicing in the salvation which is by grace through faith, I am…
Yours on the Journey,
