Be Jesus: To Someone, Somewhere, Somehow

I remember feeling a burden and calling from God to do ‘something’. At the time, I did not know what the ‘something’ was and what it would look like but the ‘something’ was nagging at my heart.  Eventually, I stepped out and began to do something.  The genesis of Pathway Outreach Ministries began with a ‘something’ — reaching out to kids in a local trailer park.  Pathway Outreach has evolved over time as God has opened more and different doors of opportunities.

I believe many people feel a burden to do something for God but are often hindered by not knowing what to do so they often do nothing. There are many different ways people can help the work of the Kingdom of God.  I think some people may be timid about helping financially because they are not able to help with a large offering.  As someone who has been involved in missions and outreach for over 25 years, I can attest to the value of consistent small donations.

I want to encourage you to: Be Jesus to Someone, Somewhere, Somehow. Consider this scripture in 2 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV), ”Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.”

As this scripture states, the fragrance of Jesus is diffused through us in every place. As we journey through life in the power of the Holy Spirit, the lives of others are touched by Jesus through us.  We just need to understand all of us can: Be Jesus to Someone, Somewhere, Somehow.  When we exhibit the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control) the aroma of Christ permeates where we are and touches those with whom we have contact.

Simple gestures of kindness and patience bless those we meet in the different avenues of our daily lives, shining the light of Jesus to many in darkness. Do not discount the many opportunities to do small acts of kindness thus diffusing the fragrance of Christ in every place.

The above photo is Pastor Baptiste in Haiti receiving the Christmas CareBoxes prepared by our loving supporters who with love and care bless the children of Haiti.  With each box is a message of Being Jesus to Someone, Somewhere, Somehow.

Remember, change the world by changing your world: Be Jesus to Someone, Somewhere, Somehow — Everyday. Most people will follow you to Jesus before they will follow Jesus.

My Prayer:  Lord, help me to set aside my procrastination and do something for your Kingdom.  Give me the patience to be inconvenienced for someone else.  Let me see the big picture in the small things.  While I am waiting for next big thing, help me to see my present opportunity to do something for Someone, Somewhere, Somehow.
