Just One

This morning as I was praying, I prayed, “Lord, I want to add one more voice [mine] to the many voices bringing you glory today.” It was then my mind began to think of the “one”. I am only one, you also are only one, yet Christ who died for all, still loves the one.

The current population of the world is almost 7.8 billion, that’s a lot of people. Percentage wise, I am only .00000000012 of the people in the world. According to numbers, I am not even a crumb of the pie. Yet, I am one. You are one. If not even a small sparrow falls to the ground outside of His will (see Matthew 10:29), surely He enjoys my one voice bringing Him glory.

Jesus stopped for the one. The Son of God had an appointment with the Samaritan outcast woman at the well. He revealed Himself as the Messiah to her more directly than to anyone else. Up to that point, she felt shamed to be counted as one, but Jesus said to her in essence, “Today, you are the one” (my perspective).

He looked into the eyes of several “ones” and said, “Follow Me.” They may have wondered why they were picked or said in their heads, “Why me?” It was because at that moment, they were the one.

One day the One-Who-Is said to me, a mere one, “Follow Me.” How could I not follow when the One of all ones said to one like me, “Follow Me”?

So, this morning it was important that I added my one voice to the many who were bringing glory to His name. Tomorrow, I intend to do the same. I pray your voice is one in the chorus.

I pray these few words find the one who is thirsty for life, hungry for truth, yet has lost their way. Follow Jesus! “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’” (John 14:6 NKJV).

“Tag, you’re it!!” You are the one! Now follow THE ONE, His name is Jesus, the Christ.
