We appreciate all of your prayers and financial support. We are counting down the days to Christmas and soon after, the beginning of a new year. The year 2018 will not soon be forgotten and this past month was full of activity.
November 6th we shipped 681 Christmas CareBoxes along with some other supplies to our church and school in Haiti. We used good, used clothing for the packing material, so that is an additional blessing. Thank you all who made this a banner year for CareBoxes. You will put a lot of smiles on kids faces—thanks again.
Pastor Baptiste visited us in November. I kept him busy. He arrived Friday night at about midnight. SATURDAY, we had a Whitt Family gathering with him at our daughter’s home. SUNDAY, he preached at our church in the morning, and then Sunday night at Eglise Porte Etroite (Haitian Church in Albertville). MONDAY, we had a class meeting with the students of Pathway School of Ministry where we had a discussion about the difficulties of being a minister in a third world country. TUESDAY, I had an invitation from the WMU of Southside Baptist Church for a morning meeting and lunch and he joined me in a discussion about our work in Haiti. Pathway Board of Directors had a supper meeting at Western Sizzlin with him. WEDNESDAY, he and I shopped for parts to repair his vehicile. Our final activity that night was at our church, where we had an informal public conversation about the mission in Haiti. THURSDAY, he and I were off to the Birmingham Airport for his early flight out (6:30 am). He enjoyed his visit and we enjoyed hosting him.
The first part of 2019, I am making plans for a mission trip to Haiti. We also will kick off our Winter Term of Pathway School of Ministry with a course entitled, “The Gospel in a Secular Culture”.
The year 2019 is a big milestone for us. In July, Pathway Outreach Ministries will celebrate 25 years of ministry in the Name of Jesus. It is hard to believe! It has been a tough journey but it has been great! You have been part of this journey—thank you!
Rejoicing in the salvation which is by grace through faith, I am…
Yours on the Journey,
Harry L. Whitt
