Over two years ago, I was lying on an emergency room bed and upon reading my EKG, the medical staff said, “You are having a heart attack right now!” They made short work of prepping me for a heart catherization and one stent and twenty-seven months later I am doing well. It is amazing how two people can see the same thing but have a different interpretation of what they experienced. So much of our lives is determined by our perspective. Many people are limited by their perspective. Perspective often determines victory or defeat.
Many of us have seen a video clip where two guys are facing off in an ultimate fighting competition. One guy is prancing around all full of himself and the other guy is watching quietly and then boom, the cocky guy gets knocked out with one punch. Spiritual warfare is not for the “showboat” but for the one who has a calm confidence in Jesus.
I would never describe myself as a fighter. In my view, it is better to avoid trouble than to stir it up. Some of us remember “The Jerry Springer Show” that kept its ratings by conflict, and more often than not, a fist fight on stage erupted. I knew then as now, that to fight is not the best option. It is better to walk away from trouble than to dive into it, but there are situations when we need to stand and not run.
Spiritual Warfare? The spiritual realm may sound mystical and spooky but it is a reality. The world around us is influenced and controlled by the activities in the spiritual realm. There is an unseen spiritual realm that corresponds to the physical. Let’s a take a look at it!
