Spiritual Warfare — Stand!

I would never describe myself as a fighter. In my view, it is better to avoid trouble than to stir it up. Some of us remember “The Jerry Springer Show” that kept its ratings by conflict, and more often than not, a fist fight on stage erupted. I knew then as now, that to fight is not the best option. It is better to walk away from trouble than to dive into it, but there are situations when we need to stand and not run.

Journey Update: February 2020

The past month of January was almost consumed with our Journey to India. One week prior to leaving in preparation, two weeks on the journey, and one week recovering from jet-lag and catching up on the home-front. It was a long journey but a great and rewarding trip for Pastor Butch Suddath and I. Pastor Reddy and his family took great care of us by receiving us into their home, feeding us, and driving almost 800 miles in our time together.

Do We Look for Another?

John the Baptist was the forerunner of Christ.  He was sent to prepare the way for Jesus.  He jumped in his mother’s womb when Mary, pregnant with Jesus, visited his mother.  In later years on the banks of the river he declared Jesus to be the Lamb who would take away the sins of the world.  He baptized Jesus in the Jordan River and was present when the Spirit descended like a dove and remained on Jesus.  I am sure he heard the words of the Father from Heaven directed to Jesus, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased” (Luke 3:22 NKJV).

Old Shepherd of Bethlehem

Occasionally, I will do a one-man drama of a character as an illustrated message in church.  This past Sunday I portrayed one of the old shepherds who heard the angels and had seen the Baby Jesus in the stable as is depicted in Luke chapter 2.  I had not planned to record the drama but a church member recorded it on his iPhone and airdropped it to me.  SO HERE IT IS!

Thanks for watching.  Blessings to you.

Yours on the Journey,

The Piercing Light of Christ

In the beginning God brought forth light upon the dark and chaotic waters of creation. The Holy Spirit was hovering over the face of the waters when God the Father said, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3 NKJV). The Word sent out by the Breath of God executed the will of the Father and rolled the darkness back by His Light that was called forth from nothing but birthed from His own eternal substance.

Getting to Know God

Moses had his first encounter with God at the burning bush in the desert while keeping his father-in-law’s sheep. He saw a fire in a bush, but the bush was not consumed so he went in for a closer look. The Angel of the Lord (Pre-incarnate Christ) called out to Moses and told him to remove his sandals because he was on holy ground.

The Lord commanded Moses to return to Egypt and lead His people out. Moses questioned God about His name and this was the reply, “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14 NKJV).

Supernatural Birth

There is one revelation I have become more convinced of than ever, and it is that we cannot logically convince someone to become a Christian. I know this may sound strange or even heretical to some people but please hear me out. True evangelism is not an earthly technique, but a spiritual reaction brought about by a supernatural convergence of man and God.
