Are you lost on the wrong road? You are in a dead-spot and the GPS doesn’t work. Are you afraid to stop and ask directions? Maybe you are lost and don’t know it. Please keep reading.
Read, heed, and listen to the words of the Savior of Men. “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. / Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV).
Narrow Way
The narrow gate has few who enter. It is not as obvious to men of flesh. One must walk contrary to the natural sway of man to choose this route. It is the difficult way or the way of discipline. It does not appeal to the flesh of man. The lust of the eye has no interest in the road. The lust of the flesh does not either. The pride of life is also uninterested.
The narrow way leads to life. It is a spiritual way as those on it are drawn to it by the Heavenly Father. The Spirit of God has quickened those who walk the dust of the earth to the only way to life. The Son of God (our Good Shepherd) has called and the sheep have recognized His voice and follow.
This route has few on its roadway to life. It is a life of surrender to the only true God. One must die to self to travel this road.
Of all the roads on earth, this is the true route. Yet, it has been ridiculed and disparaged by those on the broad way. The travelers on the narrow way have been mocked, stoned, and even killed by their enemies. Still they walk with their heads into the wind of outrage, seeking the eternal prize.
Though ridiculed, they continue in the way of truth. The truth held by only a few does not nullify its veracity. The truth tossed into the flames, walks out as refined gold. The truth cast into the deep, washes ashore even decades later. Truth birthed from God will live through eternity.
On this way, sorrow is turned to joy. This way leads to abundant life and eternal life. It is a way filled with purpose, destiny, and holy fulfillment. It is the best life one ever dreamed to live in communion with God. The brotherhood and fellowship with other believers is an added blessing.
Broad Way
The wide gate has hordes of people flooding into it. The broad way has more options. Anything goes on the broad way. Those who enter and walk on this route fulfill their lust as if it is the only way. It is a selfish way with no personal denial or sacrifice.
The easy way of the wide gate and broad way is deceitful. Those on it have a false sense of self-fulfillment. The way is crowded and all feel the surge of the crowd. The majority opinion is not always the best. A lie believed by many does not morph it into the truth.
Those who entered the wide gate and are skipping along on the broad way are headed toward certain disaster. The road on which they travel was paved by the enemy of God and man. The engineer who designed it is a thief who does nothing else but to kill, steal, and destroy. He greets the travelers with a smile but smirks behind their backs knowing their eternal destruction.
Off-Ramp
If you have taken the wrong gate and are on the wrong way, there is hope. Please take these words as a sign on the road, “DANGER AHEAD—TAKE NEXT EXIT.”
The question begs to be asked, “What gate have you entered and on what way are you traveling? There is a clearly defined destination for both. The narrow way leads to life and the broad way leads to destruction. If you are on the broad way, take the off-ramp and find the narrow way to life.
The word repentance means a change of mind with a feeling of guilt. A true change of mind leads to a change in direction. When one truly repents, they take the off-ramp and loop back onto the true way of life. Guess what? If you are still breathing, you can change direction. Quit following the devil and start following Jesus. Believe and trust that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. He was resurrected on the third day so you can also be resurrected into new life.
Jesus is not another way—HE IS THE ONLY WAY!!!
Jesus said to him [Thomas], “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 NKJV).
