Be the Fragrance of Christ

Let us be the fragrance of Jesus, by being Jesus to others on our journey of life. “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place” (2 Cor. 2:14 NKJV).

As this scripture states, the fragrance of Jesus is diffused through us in every place. We journey through life in the power of the Holy Spirit. The lives of others are touched by Jesus through us. We need to understand that we can be Jesus to someone, somewhere, somehow.

The fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (see Gal. 5:22-23). We need to allow these fruits to ripen and become fragrant. The aroma of these ripened spiritual fruits will permeate from us and others will experience the fragrance of Jesus.

Simple gestures of kindness and patience bless those we meet in the different avenues of our daily lives. Do not discount the many opportunities to do small acts of kindness. In doing so we diffuse the fragrance of Christ in every place.

Remember, change the world by changing your world. Most people will follow you to Jesus before they follow Jesus.

My Prayer: Lord forgive me for not sharing the fragrance of Jesus with others. Lord, help me to set aside my procrastination and do something for your Kingdom. Give me the patience to be inconvenienced for someone else. Let me see the big picture in the small things. While I am waiting, help me to see my current opportunity to do something to show the love of Jesus.

Yours on the Journey,

Harry L. Whitt
