Keep the Faith: Don’t Fret Over the World

All the great kingdoms that fill our history books such as the Babylonians, Medes-Persians, Greeks, and Romans have a date of their demise. In their day they controlled much of the civilized world, held sway over peoples, wealth, and resources. Their rulers held tyrannical control over peoples and lands. Those rulers are now dead, and their kingdoms fragmented and destroyed.

In the book of Daniel, the King of Babylon had a dream of an image, and the prophet Daniel told him the dream and interpreted it describing those empires mentioned above. The image was of a man made of gold, silver, bronze, iron, and clay representing those different kingdoms (see Daniel 2:31-33).

The most striking thing about this dream and its interpretation is about “the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold” (Dan. 2:45 NKJV). In Daniel 2:35 (NKJV), the scripture says this stone becomes a great mountain and fills the whole earth. This stone represents Jesus Christ and His Kingdom.

While men control the kingdoms of the world there will problems and atrocities. Politicians promise relief, dictators promise utopia, generals promise victory, scholars promise enlightenment, and religious leaders often promise empty rituals.

Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10 NKJV).

A message to the elites of this world who currently hold the reins of world power and riches, whose mirrors reflect arrogance, whose words are quoted, recorded and archived, whose transportation is waxed and polished, whose dwellings are in marble and rich mahogany, and whose fame is spread in media far and wide:

You have an end-date! Your little kingdom will be ground to powder without a trace. Your riches will turn to dust. Your wardrobe will be eaten by moths and mildew. Your mansions will be destroyed by termites and fire. Your name will be a by-word and mocked. Your descendants will evaporate to nothing. The God whom you reviled will be the One to hold you accountable for every sin. The glory and power of God will melt your pride and arrogance like butter in the sun.

A message to the humble of the earth, whose faces flow with sweat, whose muscles ache with labor, who the tyrants persecute, whose blood is spilled by the cruel, whose justice is mocked in marbled halls, and whose faith in Christ is ridiculed by the proud:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The Words of our Lord Jesus on the Mount (Matt. 5:3-10 NKJV).

Stay strong in Jesus. Patiently pray for the children of God. Occupy until He comes, or you go to Glory. Keep faith and believe. One day He will fill every valley, He will bring low every mountain and hill, He will straighten all the crooked places, and He will smooth all the rough roads (See Luke 3:5).

Keep your chin up, He is Coming!

Yours on the Journey,
